Tuberculosis is the most common oppertunistic infection in HIV/AIDS patients.
All HIV patients should be screened for TB especially if the cd4 count is less than 200.
HIV treatment should not be initiated in patients with active TB infection. Tuberculosis treatment should be started first and once TB is controlled
one can start HIV treatment after 2 weeks.
