The only way to end or stop hiv infection is by reducing the hiv transmission from infected person to uninfected person which is only possible by bringing the viral load to undetectable levels. Treatment of hiv infected patients brings the viral load to undetectable levels thereby reducing hiv transmission and reducing fresh hiv infections. Also high risk people like sex workers and people using iv drugs should be screened every 3 to 6 months to detect any new infection and should be started on treatment
