The slide shows the difference between HIV and AIDS. HIV infected patient can be in any stage but AIDS is the last stage of hiv infection. Patients with cd4 counts less than 50 are defined as AIDS patients as they are prone to get infected with many life threatening infections like miliary tuberculosis, pneumonias, disseminate fungal infections and viral infections and malignancies. The prognosis of patients in AIDS stage is poor and they need to be monitored closely and treated without delay.
